fails to extract chinese text on german-locale system.

Trying out the e-PDF To Text Converter I downloaded this app and put it to the test with a simple two-sided three-fold brochure in its pdf form. The content was translated into text, RTF, JPGs, TIFFs, URLs (seemingly connected to PDF type faces) and some unknown category labeled "Inflated". These files were deposited neatly into appropriately-named directories. The PDF was distilled, in this manner, less than a minute. The text was then ready to be copy-n-pasted into other documents (in THIS case, a html version). Comment: e-PDF To Text Whether its possible to extract coordinate data from this converter. I mean to say, whether it is possible to get the position of each and every word on the particular page as well as the left margin and right margin value of each and every word through this converter. If not, is there any software is gettable to fulfill all the requirements.

Its a handy tool while working in PDF,Specially for those who can read from PDF file and can,t write due Licence fee issue.

PDF2TXT was a life saver for me! I needed to extract text from PDF reports to load data into a database to produce statistical reports. The Adobe save to text file function was wrapping and folding the tabular data unpredictably in the output. Not only did PDF2TXT cleanly convert all the data into tabular text, it did it fast, and conveniently batch processed multiple files. I made my deadline thanks to PDF2TXT!

Works Great. I'm using pdf2txt to convert a pdf document on the fly from a vbscript by executing a shell command. Works flawlessly!

I actually wasn`t able to use it very much. I had to format my computer and found a 'codec' that does the conversion for free and that's all I needed. But it did work well! Thanks.

Sadly it appears to be MS only. It would be nice to make this clearer. Apple's textutil program seems to have stopped allowing conversion of PDF to text.

the only problem is that I had to convert a pdf hebrew file into text and it didn't recognize the caracters so it wasn't useful for me but I am sure that with latin caracters it works finethank You for giving me the chance to let You know

need command line interface I need a command line interface for what i am trying to accomplish, and i was unable to determine if your pdf2text had one (no documentation, and the tool behaved the same whether parameters were passed on the command line or not -- a GUI popup appears). That being the case, this tool is not helpful for my specific task.

Good, but I find a serious setback I loved the idea of a completely free Pdf to Word converter and I tried it out by submitting it to the conversion of a 50 page long pdf document. I found the conversion fast and the text well converted. However, what I did not like, which I believe is a serious setback, was the fact that after conversion each line worked as if it were a text box, making it difficult to edit the text. I uninstalled the software after my experiment, but will re-install it later, to give it a better look.JEscobar

does not convert entire document Tried the software and PDF docuents that use check boxes are not converted properly. Most of the PDY documents to word document converters promise the change and than do not work properly

Easy to use MiniPDF is easy to use and will do the job. In comparison with other similar converter tools (even the expensive ones) the generated word document is excellent. There is just one small critique: when I exported all shapes and images from a highresolution pdf, the generated doc was about 200MBytes in size. No application could handle a giant document like this. All in all: its a usefull tool, to extract all text from a pdf, even with a difficult layout.

this program is very good. only problem is that, that some objects are not supported in this converter so they were lost during the proces(barcode).

Received PDF file from supplier, did not want to redraw the drawing in AutoCAD. Supplier did not want to give me the drawing in AutoCAD. Used PDF_DWG converter and now I have a working drawing which I can use in AutoCAD.Still need some work on the end-result of convertion, but I am pleased.

Advertising it as free trial and then restricting it to the first few pages until you buy the converter is misleading. It takes time to download and try and then to come up with a few pages or buy the tool is ridiculous. Be honest up front. Even if I like your product I would not buy it for wasting my time.

Trial period must give full access. How can a novice judge this program if it don't convert his whole pdf document!

Trial Version It is not really possible to give an accurate assessment on the product as the trial version is too limiting e.g. 2 pages. It needs to be a more realistic number of pages say 10 to carry out a fair assessment.Our student notes were originally produced in PageMaker and a copy saved in PDF. Now the design team has been closed we are responsible for our own notes and want notes convered into Word. In order to put a case together to the company a proper evaluation needs to be carried out and 2 pages this cannot be realistically done.Tony ...
